East Bengal Club delegation were in Kuala Lumpur to attend the AFC Cup 2010 Workshop at AFC House. East Bengal team manager Mr.Swapan Ball and media officer for AFC Cup Mr.Shyam Sundar Ghosh have attended the Conference.
Popularity-wise, the AFC Cup is on par with the elite AFC Champions League, which is why the second-tier competition needs to be organised just as professionally.
Key officials of the clubs taking part in the 2010 AFC Cup are in Kuala Lumpur for the AFC Cup Workshop, a two-day event where they will learn best practice methods for ensuring a smooth competition.
“The AFC Cup provides the foundation for clubs and can be the basic development tool for teams to produce strong national teams,” AFC General Secretary Alex Soosay said in Tuesday’s opening ceremony at AFC House.
He said attendance for the AFC Cup was at a record high in 2009 and he hoped the tournament would attract even more fans in 2010.
