Trevor Morgan arriving tomorrow at Kolkata

Trevor James Morgan, the coach of Kingfisher East Bengal for upcoming season will be arriving tomorrow at Kolkata.
Morgan will be received by Team Manager Mr.Swapan Ball at the Netaji Subhas International airport.

Lalgarh’s budding footballers visits East Bengal Club & spends day out in Kolkata

For eight youngsters of Maoist-affected Lalgarh region of West Bengal it was a dream outing in this metropolis. They not only met top officials of the state government, including the chief minister, but also went around the ground of the Kolkata’s soccer giant East Bengal Club.
Based in Lalgarh region of West Midnapore district, the young boys had their day out in the city for their good showing in a recent football tournament organised by the state police as a means of reaching out to the people.
The boys visited the East Bengal Club tent and ground. At the Club tent East Bengal team Captain Soumik Dey and General Secretary Kalyan Majumdar presented the boys East Bengal T-Shirts.
The boys were very enthusiastic to know about East Bengal Club and returned back to their village home with happy memories.

East Bengal Club to celebrate 91st Foundation Day on 1st August

East Bengal Club's 91st Foundation Day will be celebrated on 1st August. To celebrate the Foundation Day East Bengal Club will organize a program at the Club Tent from 10.30 am.
Union Minister of Finance Shri Pranab Mukherjee, State PWD Minister Shri Khsiti Goswami, State Sports Minister Shri Kanti Ganguly and Mayor of Kolkata Shri Sovan Chatterjee will grace the occasion.
The Club flag will hoisted on this occasion and after that three former players of East Bengal – Shri Manilal Ghatak, Shri S. Roy (Paltu) and Tulsidas Balaram will be felicitated with the Life Time Achievement Award.
East Bengal Club will also felicitate former Club officials for their contribution for the development of the Club. The Club officials are: Shri Montu Bose, Shri Sujan Banerjee, Shri Arun Bhattacharya, Shri Sunil Poddar, Shri Jyotirmoy Sengupta, Shri Ajoy Srimani and Shri Prabir Sarkar.

East Bengal appoint Trevor Morgan as the Coach for the coming Season

Trevor James Morgan has been appointed as the Coach of East Bengal team for the 2010-11 season. Trevor born on September 1956 at Forest Gate,England was coaching for Sorrento FC of Perth,Australia in the 2009-10 season. In the 2008-09 season he was the Development Coach of the U-23 side of English Premier League outfit Hull City A.F.C.
Trevor is a Professional Football Coach, having played and coached at the highest level in England, Australia and SE Asia. He holds the UEFA "A" Coaching Licence and is also a F.F.A. Coach Instructor. His Professional playing career, spanned fifteen years in the English Football Leagues ( Bournesmouth, Bolton Wanderers, Birmingham City ), and more in the Professional League's throughout Asia and Australia. Trevor was also a Delegate and Committee Member with The English Professional Footballers Association for several years during his playing career.
He is currently an Australian citizen.
He had also coached South East Asian club teams such as Sarawak FA (Malaysia) and Sengkang Punggol FC (Singapore).

Gopal Ghosh as Volunteer at FIFA World Cup 2010

Gopal Ghosh-General Manager (Operations) of Kingfisher East Bengal FC is one of the volunteers for the FIFA World Cup 2010 which currently ongoing in South Africa.
His duty has been assigned by FIFA at the Soccer City Stadium, Johannesburg.
Gopal was among 75,000 candidates from around the world who had applied for the 15,000 volunteers posts when FIFA invited applications last year.

East Bengal ropes in Nigerian striker Ekene Ikenwa

East Bengal has signed Nigerian striker Ekene Ikenwa for the upcoming season.
Ekene last season played for Salgaocar SC and was the second highest scorer of I League scoring 17 goals after Odafa Okolie of Churchill Brothers.

East Bengal beat arch rivals Mohun Bagan by four wickets and emerge champions of the CAB First Division League at the Eden Gardens today.
Chasing a target of 381, East Bengal had it easy after Arindam Das (142) and Dibyendu Chakraborty (116 n.o.) cracked centuries to overhaul Mohun Bagan’s total of 380/6.

East Bengal U-19 lost to Sporting Clube de Goa U-19 by 2-4 margin in a penalty shoot-out in the U-19 I League Final match played today at East Bengal ground.
Bhim Oraon and Avijit scored for East Bengal U-19 in the penalty shoot-out.
East Bengal U-19 became the runners up in this competition.

Season end meet of the Football Team held today at Sourav’s

The season end get together meet of the Kingfisher East Bengal team was held today evening at the ‘Over Boundary Lounge’ of Sourav’s restaurant at Park Street, Kolkata.
The players of 2009-2010 season were present at the get together meet along with the officials of East Bengal Club.
Club Secretary Mr Kalyan Majumdar, Football Secretary Mr. Santosh Bhattacharya, United East Bengal Team Director Mr. Amit Sen of UB Group and Football Team Manager Mr.Swapan Ball wished the players best of luck for their next season and wished them success.
Club Vice-President Mr.Nani Das handed over the group photo of Federation Cup 2009 winning Kingfisher East Bengal team to all the players and team management.

East Bengal U-19 beat Pune FC U-19 by 2-0 margin in the U-19 I League match played today at East Bengal ground.
Pankaj Moula and Rajib Ghorai scored for East Bengal U-19 in each half.
East Bengal U-19 will meet Sporting Clube de Goa U-19 in the U-19 I League Final on 31st May.

East Bengal held to a draw by Viva Kerala in I League

East Bengal were held to an 1-1 draw by Viva Kerala in their last round ONGC I League match played today afternoon at Howrah Stadium.
CS Sabeeth (10') gave Kerala side the lead but Budiram Tudu (17') restored parity for the red & golds. East Bengal players missed a lot of opportunities to score in the second half and the match ended in a draw.
CS Sabeeth of Viva Kerala was adjudged Nokia Player of the Day.
