Twin headers of Mitchell gives red & gold a win

Posted on 16/08/17 by Kingfisher East Bengal

Two superb headers by defender Carlyle Mitchell in the late stages were sufficient for Kingfisher East Bengal to register a back to back 2-0 win against Customs at the East Bengal  ground today.

With this win East Bengal go to the top of the table with 6 points from two matches. After a lacklustre first half East Bengal warmed up in the second session particularly with the arrival of super sub Cavin Lobo in place of Richard Costa.

Mitchell nodded in the first goal in the 77th minute from a perfect cross of Samad Ali Mallick and completed the scoring of a Cavin Lobo set piece in added time. Lobo also initiated the move which got the first goal.

Carlyle Mitchell (East Bengal) and Sanchayan Samadder & John Ampong (Customs) were booked in the match.

Carlyle Mitchell was adjudged Man of the Match.

East Bengal will meet Peerless SC on Saturday at the same venue at 3 pm.
