Sports Day Celebrated at Club Tent

After the morning inauguration and the Blood Donation Camp Sports Day was celebrated in the evening with the felicitation of sportspersons and Hon’ble Minister of Higher & School Education Sri Bratya Basu delivering the Paltu Das Memorial lecture on “Changes in Football Scenario.”

The evening program started with the welcome address from the Club President Dr.Pranab Dasgupta. Club Secretary Mr.Kalyan Majumdar in his address told they will continue to do community development along with the sports activities of the club. In his address he also told, ”This year we have started the Paltu Das Memorial Lecture for the first time in Maidan and we will continue with this in every year.”
In memory of Late Dipak (Paltu) Das - Paltu Das Foundation to be known as PEOPLES TREE was launched at the program which will give more emphasis on community work.
Former footballers Amal Dutta, Surajit Sengupta and Monoranjan Bhattacharya also spoke on their association with Late Paltu Das.

Five Best Players of 2011-12 from 5 Divisions of CFL were given felicitation with Full Playing Kits and several football coaching camps were provided with footballs.

Sri Dibyendu Barua, Grand Master in Chess was felicitated for his outstanding achievement.

Mountaineer Ms. Soma Bhattacharya was also felicitated along with Sandipan Das U-19 cricketer.
