Foundation Day Program

The 93rd Foundation Day of East Bengal Club will be celebrated at the East Bengal ground on 1st August.
The program will be inaugurated at 10.30 am in the morning with the flag hoisting by legendary footballer Ahmed Khan. Hon’ble Minister of Govt of West Bengal Sri Subrata Mukherjee will lit the lamp at the Club tent.
After that the celebration of the Foundation Day will start by cutting a ‘Birthday Cake’ by Hon’ble Minister of West Bengal Sri Partha Chatterjee.
The evening program will start at 6 pm with a cultural program with songs by eminent singers Smt. Indrani Sen and Sri Saikat Mitra.
His Excellency Mr.M.K.Narayanan, Hon'ble Governer of West Bengal will grace the ocassion at the evening program. Mr.Narayanan will hand over the 'Bharat Gourav' Award to legendary footballer Ahmed Khan.
Renowned novelist Shri Buddhadeb Guha will be the Chief Guest and Hon'ble Ministers of WB Govt. Shri Bratya Bose, Sri Madan Mitra, Sri Subrata Mukherjee, Sri Partha Chatterjee, Janab Firhad Hakim, Sri Sudarshan Ghosh Dastidar will also grace the occasion.
During the program the legendary footballer Ahmed Khan – the mesmerizing wizard of Indian soccer will be conferred with ‘Bharat Gourav’ Award. Former red & gold stars Prasanta Sinha, Santo Mitra and Ilyas Pasha will be given ‘Life Time Achievement’ award.
Nigerian footballer Penn Orji of the current Kingfisher East Bengal football team will be given the ‘Golden Boot’ Award for his stellar role in the 2011-12 season.
Former referees Sumanta Ghosh and Sagar Sen along with noted Sports journalists Shibaji Dasgupta and Rupak Saha will also be felicitated.
