The 93rd Foundation Day celebrations which was inaugurated by legendary footballer Ahmed Khan in the morning continued in the evening with a felicitation of former and current red & gold players along with a musical performance by renowned singers.

Governer of West Bengal His Excellency Mr.M.K.Narayanan graced the occasion and inaugurated the evening program with lighting of the lamp along with Govt. of West Bengal ministers Sri Partha Chatterjee, Sri Madan Mitra, Sri Bratya Basu and the Mayor of Kolkata Sri Sovan Chatterjee.

Renowned novelist Sri Buddhadev Guha was the Chief Guest of the program.

Legendary footballer Ahmed Khan was presented the ‘Bharat Gourav’ Award by the Governer of West Bengal. Former red & gold stars Prasanta Sinha and Santo Mitra were given the “Life Time Achievement” Award.

Nigerian Penn Orji got the “Golden Boot” Award for his stellar performance in the field last season.

Renowned singers Srimati Indrani Sen, Sri Saikat Mitra performed in the musical program.

Former footballers along with other dignitaries and members, fans of the East Bengal Club were present in large numbers.
