East Bengal play 1-1 draw with Mohammedan

It was on 11th August,2015 when East Bengal dropped points in the CFL when they were held to a goalless draw by Aryans on their home ground. Since then they went on to record 24 straightforward wins only to be halted again today when they drew 2-2 with Mohammedan Sporting at Kalyani today.


East Bengal with this point top the League with 19 points from seven matches.


In an end to end thriller Mahmoud Al Amna opened the scoring for East Bengal as early as the 2nd minute when he volleyed in after Arnab Mondal had headed a freekick by Rafique in his path.


Jiten Murmu restored parity for Mohammedans in the 23rd minute when he scored from a Ogba Kalu assist.


Top scorer in the CFL, Dipanda put the black and whites ahead when he tapped in a cross by Jiten Murmu.


Willis Plaza save Red and Gold the blushes when he scored with a fine angular shot from a perfect assist by Cavin Lobo.


Samad Ali Mallick (East Bengal), Kamran Farooq, Shankar Roy (Mohd Sporting) were booked in the match.


Jiten Murmu of Mohammedan SC was adjudged Man of the Match.
