East Bengal lost to Gokulam

East Bengal lost to Gokulam FC by 2-1 margin in the Hero I League match played today at EMS Corporation Stadium, Kozhikode.


East Bengal took the lead at the stroke of half time when Katsumi Yusa converted a spot kick which the red & golds earned after a foul on Cavin Lobo inside the penalty box.


Gokulam Kerala FC made a spirited fightback in the second half and restored parity in the 51st minute through their Naga striker Kivi Zhimomi. East Bengal conceded another goal in the 87th minute as Gokulam’s  Arjun, from the right, crosses low across the face of goal into the path of Henry Kisseka but Salam Ranjan deflects it into his own net.


M. Irshad of Gokulam & Arnab Mondal of East Bengal were sent off in the fag end of the match.
