Kingfisher East Bengal routed Mohammedan SC by 6-0 margin in Sahara Calcutta Football League match to become the Champions of Calcutta Football League.

Tolgay Ozbey scored a hattrick with four goals while rookie Seminlen Doungel and Penn Orji netted one each.

East Bengal could have scored in the10th minute, but Len failed to tap in from close off a Tolgay assist but the rookie did play a role in setting up the opening of the floodgates. Latching on to a ball from their defensive third, Len found Penn with a short pass and then sprinted forward to receive the Nigrian medio’s precise diagonal through ball. He broke into the box and paased it to Tolgay. Tolgay made no mistake to slot it home with a right-footer.

The scoreline was doubled in the 34th minute when Tolgay found the target again from  a cross from the right by Khabra and completed his hattrick four minutes before the half-time. It was again a through ball from Penn and Tolgay easily found the net.

Penn again picked out Tolgay on the top of the box and the Aussie striker turned sharply and finished with a rasping right footer. Len made it 5-0 by heading in Mehtab Hossain’s corner in the 66th minute. And the final nail in the coffin was hammered in by Penn as he made a solo run to complete the final humiliation.

This was East Bengal’s third title of the season, having won the Super Cup and the IFA Shield earlier.
